Intro:


“All right see you guys later,” I said walking out of the school building. “Hey baby!” it was Josh, one of the boys from the crashone gang. The crashone gangs were a group of guys who were all weird and were all brothers. The only one I liked was Conner he was nice, shy and smart plus he had cute puppy brown eyes. His curly short brown hair ruffled in the wind blowing his scent over to me. I stopped and turned to look at them. “What do you want now?” I yelled. They all hopped off the hood of their car and jogged over to me.
“How you doin” he asked. “Fine thank you, can I leave now? I’ve got better things to do than talk to you.” I rolled my eyes .I heard the winter wind howl and wanted to go home. A couple of crashone guys snickered and I shifted my arms inside my hoodie. “Hey you don’t have to be like that.” his voice turned into a whisper and took a step closer to put his hands around my waist. “How about I take you home and we can talk” he pulled me closer. What is it with the Y chromosome? “Okay okay how about no and if you don’t let me go I’ll drop kick you .Right now .In front of all your little friends.” my voice was sarcastic but demanding. That’s a first, go me. He hands disappeared and he took a step back. “You know that’s no way to talk to a man” he spoke louder. “Josh, man lets go its getting cold” Conner spoke up. I looked at him and smiled he blushed and looked away. I sighed and looked back at josh. “Even if” I put a lot of emphasis on the word if. “You were a man Josh, I’d still talk to the same way” I turned and tried to walk away but he grabbed my arm. “who are you talking to” he said acidly. The sleeve of my hoodie pulled up my arm under his grip; I caught a glance at my watch. In about three seconds, my friend Gabe one of my outside friends would be here to rescue me. “Three, two, one” I counted aloud. I saw Gabe round the corner “help” I whispered in vampire breath. His face harden and I saw his grip tighten around his motorcycle helmet. There was complete silence as he walked over to me and took my free hand. “Let her go” Gabe said in his velvet voice but it was still harsh. Josh let go of my arm and wrapped it around Gabe. “Who are you” josh asked harshly. “I’m the one who’s gonna kick your butt if you ever touch her again” Gabe said in the same tone he used before. “Is there a problem over here” our principle Mrs. Ford came over. “No we were just leaving.” I said. “Okay. Are you new here I’ve never seen you before?” she directed towards Gabe. “No I was just here to get Sapphire, but we’re leaving now” he said. “Alright well see you children tomorrow.” she turned and walked back into the school. “Well I’ll see you tomorrow then” josh said and left .the rest of them followed except Conner. “Um I’m sorry that my brother acted like a jerk .well I guess I’ll see you tomorrow” he blushed. “Thanks. See ya tomorrow” I smiled. He turned and ran to catch up with his brothers. “Who was that” Gabe asked walking us toward his motorcycle. “He’s a friend” I smiled to myself .he handed me the helmet he was carrying. “You don’t think I’m going to wear that, do you?” I asked I mean come on me and a helmet don’t mix. At all. “Would put it on.” he asked but I shook my head no. “Please” his voice was so compelling. I looked away so I couldn’t get lost in his crimson eyes. He pulled my face back toward him, he was smiling my favorite smile and his snow white teeth glinted as the sun came out from out behind a cloud. “Oh, alright” I gave in. “but I’m driving”. He sighed and mounted the back of the bike. I hopped on and revved the engine “what’s today’s date?” I asked as I pulled out of the parking lot. “Wednesday. Didn’t you just get out school? You should know today’s date” he answered smugly. “I asked for an answer not a speech. Anyways are you going to the meeting tonight?” “Yes, I am you done asking questions you -” “I was just wondering if bellatrix is going to be there” I cut him off. “No” he sighed. The annoyance in his voice made me smile wider. We rode to the old fire house, which is where we have our meetings. I parked the bike and got off. I walked to the door and tapped on it four times. It was the signal to let the guards inside know that I’m a vampire. The door opened and I walked in with Gabe on my heels. I heard the door close .I looked up and saw others in the rafters they smiled. Some of them said “hi princess sapphire” and I saw my math teacher (who was also a vampire) Mr. Burns. Once we all settled down my father, (the king of vampires) called the meeting to order. “Hello everyone” he said speaking over quiet murmurs. Some said hello and some didn’t. I sat down on my throne next to my father and Gabe sat next to Ron my father’s assistant. “Hello father” I whispered. He looked down at me and smiled. “Everyone I have an announcement” he looked back at the crowed .they all hushed. He stood pulling me up with him and gestured for Gabe to stand also. “I have decided our nation’s future .my daughter Princess Sapphire Gem Elric will marry my assistance son Gabe Nathaniel Maximum” he pulled Gabe and me together. My veins felt like they wanted to burst and blush spilled onto my face. The crowd yelled and clapped with joy. I looked at Gabe and he actually looked happy .My glance slid to my father his mirrored Gabe’s. The only one who said nothing was me. I did not love Gabe he is merely just a friend. After that night who knew my life was going to change.

Part 1 : the beginning
The last thing I heard when I walked out of school was “have a good winter break” . “bye sapphy” I heard Patricia yell.Bye Tricia” I yelled back as I opened my car door. I threw my bag across the seat and winced as I heard my laptop hit something in the bag. “Did I break it?” I said under my breath. I checked my bag “thank goodness” it wasn’t. I closed the door, put the key in the ignition and pulled my car out of the parking lot. I drove to my favorite place to chill out .STARBUCKS!! I had to choose between staying in my warm car and going into star bucks. I flipped a coin and star bucks won. A grabbed my bag and walked into star bucks. The waiter came and I ordered a cappuccino .I was sitting next to a window in the corner to avoid contact with other people. I pulled my laptop out of my bag and started to finish my report on the Macbeth. About twenty minutes later, some of the crashone gang boy’s and a wave of Wednesday hit me. I saw Conner mixed in with the crowd, he saw me and smiled and I quickly looked down at my laptop. I shifted my hair so that it covered the left side of my face. “I’ll be right back” I heard Conner say to his brothers .then I could smell his mouthwatering scent. It smelled like strawberries, honey, lilac, and something that had no name. It was getting stronger as he walked over to me. I’ve never wanted a human so much. “Hey, sapphire “he said in a friendly voice. I looked up “oh, hey Conner” even for a vampire who had super self control I was so nervous. “You have very pretty eyes” his voice had changed it sounded more compelling. “Thanks so do you” I looked his shoulder at his brothers. “How did you get them so crimson? Contacts?” he asked dragging my attention from his brothers. “No, I was born with them” I lied knowing my true eye color was gray. “ what about your hair .were you born with white hair?” he asked trying to flirt I guess. “yeah I was born with It” I smiled . “That’s cool, so I see your finishing your Macbeth report” he just had to look at my report. He would think that I’m slow, he probably already finished. “Yeah” I said in a low voice. “I don’t think I’m going to pass the test” he said. “I’d be willing to help you out” I offered. “That would be cool. Do you want my number?” he blushed. I smiled “sure, give me your phone”. He handed me his phone and I put in my number. I gave him my phone and he put his in, when he was finished, we gave each other back our phones. I glanced at my screen and it said two-thirty. “I’ve got to go but I’ll see you around” I put my laptop back in my bag and stood up. “All right see you round” he gave me a smile that made my heart beat faster. He smiled wider as if he could ear it .I walked to the door and looked back one more time and he was still standing there cute as ever. “Hey wait” he called and jogged over to me. I turned fully “what’s up” I asked my voice sounded shy and so unlike me. “Do you want to go to the movies with me?” he asked. “Won’t Josh be mad?” I asked in the weird voice. “Who say’s he has to know.” he smirked. “I’m free tomorrow. I’ll meet you there” I left him standing there smiling. As soon as I got in my car screamed but I stopped, thinking someone might notice. I drove home singing along with the radio. My father was standing on the porch as I pulled into the driveway . He looked mad, or pissed off would be a better definition . I grabbed my bag and got out of the car the happiness from starbucks drained out of my system. I slowly walked up to the porch “hey dad” I said weakly . “where were you?” he asked his voice menacing . “oh leave her alone. She’s seventeen I’m sure she has her reasons.” my mom said walking out onto the porch. “but sh-”. “I said leave her alone . She needs to be a regular teenager too not just a vampire princess . My phone rang and I answered it. “hello” I whispered. “Hey sapphy it’s bellatrix” she sounded all happy and stuff. “Can I call you back I think I’m on the verge of getting grounded” she laughed and hung up. “Sapphire go in the house your foods on the table” my mom said staring at my father . I hung my head and walked around my father and into the house. I stopped by the basement door and opened it. “Shadow wa-” but before I could finish my sentence a three hundred pound liger pounced on me . “Gross get off” I laughed . He hopped around me while I stood up. “that still isn’t a reason she should be able to come home on time . We had no trouble with this when Gabe was picking her up from school .” I heard my father who was still out on the porch complain. Try finding out that you have to marry your best friend who you aren’t even in love with .“ well I don’t know what happened between them . They used to be so close. And that doesn’t give you a excuse to go dipping your head in their business!” my mother scolded. Shadow grumbled and I looked down at him. “trust me boy you don’t want to know” I rubbed his head . The air smelled of tuna salad my favorite ! I ran to the kitchen with shadow on my heels. There sitting on the table was a plate full of tuna salad. I got some out of the pot on the stove and gave some to shadow. I sat down at the table and ate the whole plate down in about four gulps my personal best. My mom walked into the kitchen and smiled at me. “ I know you heard us so what happened between you and Gabe” she asked chuckling at the empty pot. “ ohh nothing he just wanted me to agree to something I didn’t want” I stood to wash my plate but my mom took it and washed it herself. My mom is sort of a neat freak. “mom I’m going to be out for at least an hour” I took the plate from her hand and dried it. “So that’s why you were late today. A boy isn’t it. Is that why you and Gabe aren’t talking?” she spat questions at me. I had to wait a second before my mind was cleared. “yeah it’s a boy but its not why Gabe and I aren’t talking.” I replied. “well you should call next time your late. Your father almost had a heart attack. I mean if he could have one” she laughed. I laughed along with her. “I heard that” my father said coming into the kitchen and swept my mom off her feet to hug her. I felt that they should enjoy this moment for themselves so I went up to my room my phone rang just as I reached the door. “hello?” I answered. “sapphire its Gabe” his voice was just as I remembered it , velvety and soft. “yeah? I asked. “have you changed your mind yet?” I didn’t answer . He asked me again. “no .I didn’t change my mind” I said and hung up.
